Language

In Dubai. So I know everyone loves French and as much as I love the language myself, dang, Arabic's language looks so elegant. It's the only language I've seen luxury brands also put in translation on their retail stores. And it even makes Baja Fresh's logo look elegant!

3D Billboards in Taiwan

Interesting new idea to catch attention.

Flyer distribution through signage

In Taiwan, and saw this billboard sign on a poll. It has a jut out shelf for flyers for passerbys, integrated within the sign. A more seamless and less intrusive way to distribute flyers maybe?

Sustainable Reminder

This sleeve actually has a picture of a tree/nature on it to remind consumers about where the product comes from. The text also says: "Helping you to grow a more sustainable community." Because we all play a part in saving our community and our world. It's easy to forget, nor is it something we as consumers don't think as much about, but during this period in time, it's more and more important to think about.

Hard to miss where they placed this. :)

Public restrooms

To improve customer experience, I wonder, has anyone ever thought to put more stalls in the women's restroom/make the women's restroom bigger than the men's restroom?

Shaved ice in Taiwan

Mango shaved ice is a huge thing in Taiwan. Here is a fan as a gift for customers as part of a way to welcome tourists, visitors and a great brand image, experience, awareness and loyalty booster. Giving a gift from a brand to me shows promise and builds a relationship like in any relationship. And who doesn't feel good/happy receiving a gift?

Movie Theater Ad placements in Taiwan

At a movie theater in Taiwan, on the right is an ad for a magazine. They decided to open this space to advertise other products. Maybe an opportunity for other theaters as well.

Marketing in Asian Magazines again

This magazine called FG that I got in Taiwan included a whole lipstick that they featured in it. Possibly their own lipstick since it has their name on it? :) Sometimes these magazines include samples, even bigger products that don't look like samples at all. Not in every magazine or the same samples for the same magazine either.

Magazine free samples

Asian fashion magazines as well as European fashion magazines in my experience tend to include giveaways such as a pencil pouch, tote bag or nail polish shown in front of the magazine and included inside. This one shown might have been a giveaway or a sample from an Asian magazine. I personally would be swayed to purchase a magazine if it gave you stuff. :)

Hugo Boss luxury

This is the tissue paper that came with my purchase today from Hugo Boss. Here you can see the amount of attention and effort put into the logo printing, which is consistent with the luxury image that this brand represents. Well done in my opinion!

Asian pad colors

They are such light and pretty colors, whereas the pad colors in the US are very bright and not as subtle. How come the US pad colors aren't as subtle as I would assume we would like to have them be?

Crabtree & Evelyn gift packaging and shopping bag

The paper used for the gift packaging is thick with some weight to it, which contributes to the feeling the product is more high end to merit this sort of packaging. It is very consistent with the design of the shopping bag as well. Not the biggest fan of the way the ribbon has to loop through one hole to make a fold as it seems a bit of a hassle to have to make the bow tight enough to fold it over tightly, and if the fold is not tight, to me it resembles a bit more like a lunch bag. If there were two holes in the fold horizontally it might be easier to have the fold shut and the bow might be easier to make?

Victoria Secret shopping bag

Love the bold girly colors and the pink and red tissue that comes with wrapping the product, which in doing so elevates the image of the product and the purchase as even more special.

H&M body product package design

Really great refined look for the packaging for this body wash and lotion set from H&M for just $7.95. I can see it fitting right in or inspired by the room at Encore with the elegant look and with the gold lines along the package. I think they did a great job capturing luxury and refinement. Love it!

Southwest Airlines

I was just flying Southwest Airlines last week and noticed they gave two packages of peanuts each, each with a message/ad from the airlines. They also took the opportunity to imprint messages on each side of their napkins as well. Smart in my opinion. :)

Card packaging

Many times I find that in card packaging the print of the card on the outside looks one way but when I open it the card inside looks different. These cards have an actual card sample on the outside instead of a print of it so we can see what it actually looks like. :) This way of packaging elevates the level of transparency, which can develop trust for the brand.
